Restaurant is a lifetime affair. There is nothing usual or easy about it in any way. Still, it is a fantastic, overwhelming, tremendously gratifying, intoxicating, inspiring and incredibly dynamic full-time, life-long career. There are the days of crafting beautiful dishes, building joyous
cocktails and choosing the best of wines. There are some days of madness and exhaustion, but most importantly, there are many days that are heightened by happy smiles, lifted by strong handshakes and warmed with heartfelt hugs of our loyal patrons. Numerous days of us working outside as servers, bartenders and kitchen help, these are the days that have never disappointed or swayed away our passionate obsession with the restaurant world. And we are so incredibly lucky that the restaurant world let us in and let us write our own story.
We came in to Hunter’s Chophouse in January 2015, insanely excited to call this place our own and create something really special. It has been taking time to architect our vision, our plan for this restaurant, the restaurant that we wanted it to be. We have acclaimed it to be the place where you can find the largest and the best wild game and meat variety in town.
Hunter’s Chophouse is a place for people who love meat, whiskey, great wine and a warm welcome. But we always wanted to be inclusive of all the guests: always mindful and highly appreciative of every guest, every time. We have been working on resourcing local meat and produce and adding new interesting items every year. We are constantly learning and adding to our whiskey and wine collections.
The building that we call "Hunters", was originally built nearly 60 year ago. Much more modest in size initially, it has been updated and modified several times by different owners in order to adjust to new business needs.
In 1972, Yum Yum Hut Restaurant opened and offered "fine Western Dining at its best".
In the 1980s, Crowley's High Country Restaurant thrived and made a lot of homemade pastries making up to 65 pies per day on busy days.
In 1988, Antlers restaurant was opened.
Preschool daycare (1995) and a Coffee Mercantile - are all part of unpredictable twists and turns for this interesting place.
2001 is the year when Hunter’s Chophouse legacy started. Newly redesigned, the restaurant opened its doors in July 2002. New owners continued the restaurant's history creating its new unique interior – similar to the way it looks today.
January 15th 2015 is the day when we received the keys to Hunter’s Chophouse. Preciously maintaining and acknowledging its unique mountain background, we are all very excited to see where this road is going to take us.
We hope you will trust us to take you on this adventure with us:
